Booking a barber or hairdresser appointment still too often means calling during the salon's working hours, or a message answered hours later. Meety had to close the whole process inside the app: find a salon nearby, browse services and prices, pick a specialist and a time, book — then rate the visit and rebook in seconds. The challenge was keeping the booking path dead simple while serving both sides of the market: the client and the salon.

I started with the product, not the code: user flows, a prototype and a coherent design system — a dark theme with a bold orange accent that guides the eye to the “Book” action. Instead of two separate native apps there is one React 19 + Vite pattern: Android gets a native app wrapped with Capacitor (FCM push, geolocation, haptics), while iOS and the web get an installable PWA. The backend runs entirely on Firebase: data updates in real time, and bookings go through Cloud Functions as transactions with slot locking, so two people can never book the same time. Scheduled functions send push and e-mail reminders about upcoming visits every hour.

A finished, polished app for iOS and Android where the path from opening to a booked visit takes under a minute. The client gets booking history, favourite salons and reminders at hand; the salon gets a filled calendar without answering phones. A single codebase means every new feature ships to both platforms at once.
